Fosterers

Cats Whiskers

As we are still a small branch we are always happy to meet people willing to take on the role of fosterers.Do you love cats and want to help them find loving new homes?
  • Are you caring, but not overly sentimental?

  • Are you not afraid to get your hands dirty, happy to deal with the public, and do you understand that cats in care need attention outside of normal hours?

If the answer to all these questions is yes, then maybe you could be a fosterer.

A fosterer's role is very rewarding, and it isn't just about stroking cats, it's about looking after them as and when required, whilst we find them a loving home. Fostering is done at home- either in your garden in a purpose built cat cabin as shown (which of course will be provided for you) or in a spare room adapted for indoor fostering.

Fundraisers

  • Are you motivated?

  • Do you enjoy helping at events?

  • Are you full of fun and interesting ideas for fundraising events?

Yes? Without our fundraisers at regular events, sales and original fundraising ideas, we could not continue our work, caring for cats and kittens. There are lots of local events and venues in the area where we can raise awareness and raise funds for our worthwhile cause. Activities involve coming up with ideas for venues, persuading people to volunteer goods to sell, and manning stalls.

Supporters

  • Do you just want to make a difference, to ensure all cats are homed to the right places, or do you have transport and a few hours to spare?

  • Maybe you just love animals and want to use some of your spare time to benefit cats and kittens in your area?

There are lots of ways that you could help, such as home-visiting or transporting goods locally. In fact, there's so many ways you can add value and make a real difference, just by offering a few hours of your time.

Volunteer home visitor

Across Cats Protection there are thousands of cats and kittens looking for new and loving homes at any one time. Our volunteer home visitors support a local volunteer group by helping find our feline friends happy, caring and suitable homes. They communicate with potential adopters, match cats and kittens with new homes and provide support to new cat owners. This is a rewarding role, as our volunteer home visitors play a vital part in helping cats and kittens find their perfect forever homes.

Volunteer Secretary

At Cats Protection we help thousands of cats and kittens each year thanks to our dedicated volunteer groups. These groups of passionate individuals all help our feline friends in different ways. They take in stray and abandoned cats and ensure they receive the veterinary care and attention they deserve, help raise funds, promote neutering and help spread cat welfare messages. Our volunteer secretaries provide the support that helps our volunteer groups run smoothly. They make a real difference to the lives of our feline friends by helping maintain positive communications, supporting others, promoting the work of Cats Protection and signposting queries from members of the public.

Volunteer events fundraiser

As a charity we can continue to help cats and kittens in need thanks to the donations we receive at fundraising events from generous members of the public. Our events fundraisers have the exciting and varied role of helping plan and deliver local fundraising events. They support a team of fundraising volunteers who come together to raise the vital funds needed to help our feline friends in need. They use their passion for cats and people to plan cakes sales, barn dances, quiz nights – and everything in between!
